Nature and scope of our services

Nomu provides financial advice services in relation to personal loans and vehicle finance.

Our services may include:

  • Assessing your stated objectives, requirements, and relevant personal information
  • Assessing applications and identifying suitable lending options from our panel of third-party lenders
  • Where appropriate assisting you through the loan application, approval, and settlement process

Advice may be provided digitally through our online platform and, where applicable, by a Nomu adviser.

Advice and information services

Nomu provides both financial advice and information-only services.

Financial advice involves making a recommendation based on your objectives, requirements, and personal circumstances.

Information-only services may include explaining loan features, lender requirements, application processes, or next steps. Information-only services do not constitute financial advice or a recommendation.

We will make it clear when financial advice is being provided and when we are providing information only

Our lender panel

Nomu works with a panel of third-party lenders. Our panel does not represent the entire lending market, and we do not consider every lender or loan product available in New Zealand.

The lenders on our panel may change from time to time based on commercial, operational, and compliance considerations.

Where we recommend or arrange a loan for you, we will clearly disclose the lender involved before you proceed.

What we do not advise on

Nomu does not provide financial advice in relation to:

  • Credit-related insurance products (including Loan Protection Insurance or Mechanical Breakdown Insurance)
  • Business lending
  • Budgeting, investment, or financial planning services

Affordability and lending decisions

Nomu assesses applications based on the information youprovide and our assessment of your stated objectives, requirements, andeligibility against the criteria of lenders on our panel.

As part of this process, Nomu may decide not to proceed with an application or may decline to submit an application to a lender where we consider it unlikely to meet lender requirements.

All credit decisions, approvals, lending terms, and responsible lending assessments are made solely by the lender. Any loan approval is conditional and subject to the lender’s final assessment and terms.

Nomu does not guarantee that an application will besubmitted to a lender, approved, or result in any particular loan outcome

Fees and commissions

Nomu may charge an introducer or service fee of up to $995 for arranging a personal loan or vehicle finance. This fee may be added to your loan amount or paid separately at settlement. No fee is payable if you do not proceed with the loan or cancel within the applicable cooling-off period.

Nomu may also receive commissions or other payments from lenders when a loan is completed. These payments may include:

  • A percentage of the loan amount
  • A fixed flat fee (up to $250)
  • A share of interest income over the life of the loan

Different lenders may pay different commissions. Where youtake out an insurance product from an insurer such as Autosure, Nomu mayreceive a commission from the insurer.

Further information about fees and commissions applicable to your loan will be disclosed at the time advice is provided or is available on request.

Insurance

Nomu may make available the option to apply for comprehensive vehicle insurance through Autosure Insurance (DPL Insurance Ltd, NZBN 942904869582) in connection with vehicle finance.

Any insurance product is optional and is not required to obtain finance.

Nomu does not provide financial advice in relation to insurance products. Where insurance is offered, this is provided on an information-only basis to assist you in considering whether you wish to apply.

If you choose to proceed with an insurance product, premiums are payable to DPL Insurance Ltd and are determined by a number of factors including the level of cover selected, the term of cover, and any applicable excess. Nomu may receive a commission from the insurer if an insurance policy is taken out.

You should consider the policy terms and whether the insurance is suitable for your circumstances before proceeding

Conflicts of Interest

Nomu receives income from lenders and insurance providers when loans or insurance products are arranged. From time to time, product providers may offer minor non-cash incentives such as promotional items or event invitations.

Nomu manages conflicts of interest through:

  • A formal Conflicts of Interest Policy
  • Registers of conflicts, gifts, and incentives
  • Annual training for advisers and staff
  • Regular compliance monitoring and reviews

These controls are designed to ensure that advice is not materially influenced by conflicts and that client interests are prioritised.
